Well known as the jewel of Vidharbha, Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve has grown in popularity due to the surge in photographer traffic that thronged the forest to shoot tiger cubs during the 2010-2013 season. The park has become a hot spot for tiger photography in India today, with some more limelight due to the presence of a young black panther in the tourism zones.
Tadoba is rich in biodiversity. Apart from big cats like tigers and leopards, Tadoba is also a great place for big games like sloth bears, wild dogs (Dhol) and the Indian gaur.
For tiger spotting: March to June is ideal. However, if you are looking at a great backdrop for the jungle cat to pose in, then the post-monsoon months when the forest is lush is ideal! Dec to February is a good time for photographing tigers in beautiful winter light.
