Nestled in the high-altitude belts of northeast Himachal and touted as the second highest village in the world, Kibber is a part of the Kibber wildlife sanctuary. This cold desert mountain valley is home to some of the most exotic high-altitude wildlife of India. The presence of prey in the form of Ibex and Blue sheep along with the snow-capped mountains and rocky terrains make Kibber home to one of India's most iconic cats - the snow leopard. Kibber wildlife sanctuary is also home to high altitude wildlife like the red fox, Tibetan wolf, golden eagle, ibex, blue sheep and the lammergeier (bearded vulture).
