Explore the hidden wildlife in the surreal landscapes of the Himalayas in Ladakh - the roof of the world.
The Himalayan landscape around Leh is famous for its arid, remote mountain beauty and culture of the Tibetan population of the area. With cold deserts, snow peaked mountains and colorful prayer flags in every nook and corner, this tour focusing on the local monasteries and wildlife in these high altitudes, will be an epic cultural, ethnographic and wildlife experience for you. In Leh you will get familiar with age old Tibetan monasteries and culture. Hanle will give you the opportunity to spot and photograph a variety of birds, including the rare Black necked crane and Bar headed geese. The areas are home to the rare Pallas Cat, wild asses, Tibetan wolves and red foxes.
Pick up from Leh airport and transfer to a hotel in Leh. This will be your day of acclimatization and it’s recommended that you should rest your body and let it get used to the jump in altitude specially since you will be flying from significantly lower altitudes. You can still walk around the Leh market and spend a nice relaxing evening around the market
During the second day of your acclimatization, you will explore some local sightseeing in and around Leh. Will also visit some potential birding locations.
Overnight in Leh hotel.
With your body well rested and acclimatized, you will check out from Leh and undertake a scenic drive to Hanle which would be our base for the next few days. The rugged open landscape of Hanle is home to the rare Pallas cat along with a host of other species like red fox, Tibetan sand fox, Tibetan wolves and wild asses. Keep your camera ready for high altitude Himalayan birds which you may encounter anywhere on your route.
Post check in at the homestay in Hanle, you will head for an evening field session in this picturesque landscape.
3 full days will be dedicated to explore the wildlife and bird life around Hanle. Apart from the keystone target mammal species - the search would be on for the black necked cranes , Eurasian eagle owl.
Nights of Hanle are spectacular and you can expect a stunning night sky on a clear day so in case you are keen to work with the night sky, get your photographic gears accordingly.
Drive back to Leh city and post a busy week, you can now unwind in Leh on this last day of the photo tour.

The masterclass and one on one review sessions will help you develop an understanding of usage of light, experiments with composition and strike a balance between science and creativity in wildlife photography. The post processing sessions will help you develop your processing skills as a photographer. Regular interactions with the NW photo guide are always helpful in your overall enhancement as a wildlife photographer.
Cancellation for an event will be considered via a written mail to info@naturewanderers.com. The date of the mail would be considered for calculation of the cancellation fee.
Price Per Adult : INR 59,000 + (5% GST to be Applicable)
30% of the registration fee would be the booking amount. This booking amount is non-refundable.
Remaining 70% of the registration fee should be paid 75 days prior to the tour date.
50% of the remaining fee refunded if cancellation is done 90 days prior to the event.
25% of the remaining fee will be refunded if cancellation is done between 60-89 days prior to the event.
No refund if cancellation is done under 0-59 days.
