Book a front-row seat to witness one of the world’s most spectacular natural events—the Great Wildebeest Migration. Join Sony Ambassador and Author, Shivang Mehta this June and experience Masai Mara at its finest, packed with Photographic learnings.
The Nature Wanderers Masai Mara Uncut photo safari is expertly designed to provide exceptional photographic opportunities in Masai Mara in the month of June which marks the beginning of the wildebeest migration season in Masai Mara. During this period, you may just be lucky to witness the first major river crossings, where thousands of wildebeests and zebras surge across the Kenyan savannah. In addition to the migration spectacle, this time of year offers a high probability of witnessing intense predator action in the form of lions, cheetahs and leopards. With the guidance of our expert photo mentor, this safari is tailored for both amateur and seasoned photographers, ensuring that you capture every thrilling moment.
Your location of stay in the Mara is the key differentiator. The Mara expanse is beyond imagination and in the vast terrain, the river crossing and migratory trend of wildebeest is mostly towards the Mara river. Covering these massive distances can be a challenge in Mara if you have not chosen the apt location to stay in this huge forest. The astounding wildlife moments that our guests have witnessed in more than a decade of migration photo safaris conducted by Nature Wanderers is because of the choice of the camping location in Mara. You stay at a site which is not loaded but overloaded with wild action. With the crack of dawn, with all photographic ammunition loaded and our remarkable photo guide who works closely with the Mara guides, you are right at the action point within no time as your stay is being organized in bush camps in close proximity to the Mara river. Other key action areas are also close by and enable us to plan your safaris effectively. The most spectacular pictures of the “river crossing” have been taken because of the location of stay in Mara. The same logic holds true for the crucial evening light which has to be utilized to the core for photography.
Depart from Nairobi early in the morning for a scenic 6-hour drive to Masai Mara, passing through stunning landscapes, including the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, check into your camp and enjoy a delicious lunch before heading out for your first safari.
The afternoon game drive takes place in top-of-the-line side and top-open vehicles (land cruisers), designed for optimal photography. These vehicles are equipped with wireless radio devices, ensuring seamless communication between vehicles so you can always be at the action point. After an exhilarating evening of wildlife viewing, return to camp by sunset for dinner and an overnight stay, ready for another day of adventure.
