DAY BY DAY

DAY 1

Arrive at Bagdogra by morning and departure to our field location in Eastern Himalayas (4 hours drive). Check-in at a homestay. Post lunch session on Introduction to DSLR Camera Trapping Understanding the technology and knowing the rigs and gears Field trip, identification of trails, and deployment tutorial

DAY 2-6

In these 5 days, you would monitor your own traps with hands-on training and practice setting up your traps. Engage in in-depth discussions with our team to understand the field challenges and hone your skills as a trapper. In case you are using our trapping inventory and you get an image, that will be your prized possession and all copyrights would belong to you!

Don't forget to carry your tele and wide lenses during these treks as you would be blessed with some amazing birding and landscape photography opportunities.

DAY 7

Winding up a trapping project is as important as starting one and in the early morning of this last day, you would be rushing to the field to pick up your traps. Post breakfast you would head back to Bagdogra airport for your return flight.

What would I be learning in this workshop?

In this specially designed module, you would be learning the finer nuances of DSLR Camera Trapping which can best be taught in a field situation. A complete run-down of the process of setting up a trap, monitoring, and important field decisions which have to be taken will be shared with you.

I already have my DSLR camera trap set up. Is there any further preparation I need to do?

We always encourage the use of your own setup so that you practice and hone your skills with the knowledge acquired from this workshop. Get in touch with our team before the tour so that we can guide you on how to prepare your setup for this workshop.

Can I bring multiple setups for this workshop?

The more the merrier! Of course, you can bring multiple setups but do discuss with our team on preparing the setups for this location.

I don't own a DSLR Camera Trap set up but I wish to attend this workshop. Is there a scope?

In case you don't own a setup and don't intend to invest in one before the workshop, we would be giving you one setup which you can use for the duration of the workshop. The image copyrights would belong to you.

What's the field preparation needed for this workshop?

A detailed note would be sent to you once you register for the workshop.

Price per person : INR 38,500 (5% GST to be Applicable)

Payment Terms:

  • 30% of the registration fee would be the booking amount. This booking amount is non-refundable
  • Remaining 70% of the registration fee should be paid 120 days prior to the tour date.

Inclusions:

  • 6 nights 7 days of stay in a homestay with 3 meals per day
  • Services of NW team of facilitators and trainers
  • Airport pick up and drop
  • Usage of DSLR Camera Trap inventory (Housing, DSLR, lens, sensors, flashes, and the rig) - 1 set up for 1 participant (in case you don't own a set up)

Refund policy:

  • 50% of the remaining fee refunded if cancellation is done 90 days prior to the event.
  • No refund if cancellation is done under 0-89 days.
