SNOW LEOPARD EXPEDITION - Ladakh ( Hemis National Park )

Known as the land of high passes, Ladakh gives you the unique opportunity to track and photograph the elusive snow leopard in its natural surroundings. The snow leopard, also called the Grey Ghost, is found in the regions of the Hemis National Park and the Ulley village in Ladakh. The snow leopard trek takes you through remote and mountainous landscapes of these locations. The trek is mostly organized during the winter months between November- March, as these cats come down to lower altitudes in search of prey. SNOW LEOPARD EXPEDITION - SPITI ( Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary )

Nestled in the high-altitude belts of northeast Himachal Pradesh, the Spiti valley is a cold desert mountain valley and is home to some of the most exotic high-altitude wildlife of India. The presence of prey in the form of ibex and blue sheep and the snow-capped mountains and rocky terrains make Spiti home to one of India's most iconic cats - the snow leopard. In the cold winter months of December to March, these elusive cats descend to lower altitudes in search of prey and this makes Spiti a snow leopard hotspot for photographers and wildlife lovers.

In addition to the snow leopard, the area is teaming with wildlife like the red fox, Tibetan wolves, lammergeier, golden eagle, Himalayan snow cocks, chukars, and some breathtaking landscapes which are ideal of photography in day and night. Travel

Arrival at Delhi airport early morning. Reach Ahmedabad by flight and leave for Little Rann of Kutch by road. Once you arrive at your hotel, you check in and rest for the remainder of the day.
DAY 1
DAY 2 - 4

You leave for the desert safari in an open jeep in the morning, tracking herds of Wild Asses. Upon your return from the safari, you have breakfast and rest at the hotel till its time for your afternoon drive. Post sunset, you come back to the hotel and spend your evening in the quiet surroundings of the desert. Spending 3 days in this area and going for regular drives will give you ample opportunities to create beautiful images of these animals against various backgrounds. You get a chance to photograph these fast animals against the backdrop of a setting sun in the desert. The sanctuary also has a wide array of migratory birds. You can also spot desert foxes and the Indian wolf.

Travel

You leave early morning for Ahmedabad by road. Reach Ahmedabad by evening and rest the night in the hotel.
DAY 5
DAY 6

Travel

From Ahmedabad, you leave early morning for Gir via road and reach by evening. Post checking in at your hotel and having dinner, you retire for the night.

These 3 days will be spent doing regular safaris in the park. Post your morning tea or coffee, you leave for the drive. After coming back from the safari, you rest at the hotel and get ready for your afternoon drive post lunch. Upon your return from the afternoon drive, you rest and relax in the hotel post dinner.

Travel

Departure from Gir early morning to reach Ahmedabad. Evening flight back to Delhi from Ahmedabad.

What will be the kay take aways for me from an NW photo tour?

A team of highly committed professionals who live their lives out there on the field, the NW team has the hands on knowledge from a wildlife and photography perspective to make the most of your wildlife trip. As an amateur photographer, you come back with a better understanding on camera handling and on-field shooting tips as our team constantly keeps an eye on your shooting techniques and gives you the necessary onfield guidance to mature to the next level. Even if you have been shooting in the field regularly, the group interactions around photography and wildlife are an enriching experience.

I do not posses the adequate equipments to shoot wildlife. Can I still be a part of an NW photo tour?

Equipments can't restrict you from participating in our photo tour. You can touch base with the NW team for possible equipment rental options and we would try to equip you adequately based on the nature of the program you are enrolling for.

What is the onfield value add I get from NW?

NW programs are backed by strong field analysis and locations surveys. Our team spends maximum time in the wilderness and is up-to-date with sighting reports because which we are able to plan out the photo tour effectively. In addition to this, you can bug our experienced photography escorts and trainers with your photography queries - be it field tips, basic or advanced photography queries, post processing of images etc.

What all is included in the package?

In case of established national parks, NW ensures the best of facilities in the form of comfortable rooms and the best in class safari experience. However whenever infrastructure is an issue, we try to give the best of what is avaialble. Photography is our key focus and we do not compromise on that part. Our endeavor has always been to give our participants the maximum productive field time.

What is the cancellation policy in case I want to back out from a trip?

Cancellation for an event will be considered via a written mail to info@naturewanderers.com. The date of the mail would be considered for calculation of the cancellation fee. Refund policy:

  • 50% fee to be refunded if cancellation is done between 120-90 days prior to the event
  • 30% fee to be refunded if cancellation is done between 90-60 days prior to the event
  • No refund if cancellation is done between 0-60 days of the event

  • Service of an English speaking professional driver/guide.
  • Transport whilst on safari in a 4×4 safari Land cruiser with pop up roof for game viewing.
  • Transfers in Arusha and in Zanzibar.
  • Full Board Accomodation whilst on safari.
  • Half Board Accomodation whilst on Zanzibar (sunshine suite).
  • One night before safari in Arusha hotel on BB.
  • All park entrance fees and goverment taxes as per the itinerary.
