The largest mangrove forest of the world - Sundarbans National Park - is not just about the Royal Bengal tiger. The variety of biodiversity in this mystic forest is truly mesmerizing. The Sundarbans, considered one of the natural wonders of the world, is a coastal forest in the Bay of Bengal. The Sundarbans National Park is a tiger and biosphere reserve, densely covered by mangrove forests. This aspect gives the location a unique visual benchmark in terms of tiger images in such a habitat. This estuarine delta has numerous rivers and streams, forming a network of islands and waterways. Due to its proximity to the sea, the ecological geography of this place keeps shifting and changing depending on the tidal waves. The islands and mudflats of Sundarbans create haunting frames with the mangroves as a backdrop to shoot the majestic Royal Bengal tiger in this surreal setup.
The mangroves are also home to numerous bird and reptile species, including the saltwater crocodile.
Do note that you will be spending your days on a boat traversing through the creeks and waterways of this tidal mangrove scanning the shores for tigers. Your meals would be served in the boat. However, dinner and night stay would be at a lodge in the periphery of the park.

Arrival at Kolkata airport. From the airport, you will be picked up and driven to Godhkhali, a journey of 3 hours by road. At Godhkhali, you will be transported to a motorboat on which you will leave for your eco resort on one of the Sundarbans islands. This journey will be about 1.5- 2 hours. Post checking in, you can relax for the rest of the day.
After an early morning tea, you will leave for your cruise safari on a boat where breakfast would be served. Throughout the cruise, you will stop a few times at various viewing points and watch towers. Short mud walks will take you to these points from where you can see a breathtaking view of the river ways and the forests. These watch towers are located in areas frequented by the tigers. While cruising through these creeks, you will get a chance to photograph numerous birds, wild boars, water monitor lizards, crocodiles, snakes, landscapes and our experienced guides will always be on the lookout for spotting a tiger. Lunch will also be served on board. One of the days you can also visit the villages surrounding the islands. You will be returning to your resort in the evening from where you can enjoy the sunset. A short cultural program will be arranged in the evening which will give you a glimpse of the people living in this part of the world through their music and dance. Post dinner, you retire for the night.
On the last day, you will go for a short morning cruise or you can choose to stay on the island and visit the local market and village. Lunch will be served at the resort, post which you will begin your journey back to Godhkhali via motorboat. At Godhkhali, you will be transferred into your car and you will reach Kolkata by evening.
